There’s a lot of green stuff happening behind the scenes. Less plastic, more recycling, cleaner energy — all helping us make products you love, with less impact on the planet. See below all the info on what we're up to.
Our Journey So Far...
2019
Inspired by BBC's Blue Planet (which we also happen to do calendars for!), we took a long hard look at how we could do our bit for the planet. Our first internal sustainability audit was born — along with our Green Team — to start identifying where we could make real changes.
We also became members of Products of Change, a fantastic organisation that helps drive sustainability in the industry
2020
We ditched glitter from our cards, saved 11.2 tonnes of plastic via going plastic-free on packaging where we could, and added recycling labels to help customers do their bit too. Plus, we partnered with Ecologi to plant trees for every order placed — creating our very own virtual forest -See below for more information.
Inside the office, we boosted recycling, installed LED & sensor lighting, and kept chipping away at small wins that add up.
2021
We installed EV chargers at the office to help staff switch to cleaner travel.
Non-recyclable bits like coated wiro binding were removed from calendars, while we explored new reusable formats like postcard desk easels and deluxe calendars that can be framed after use.
We kept moving more products into plastic-free packaging, and for the first time — started measuring our full carbon footprint to track real progress.
2023
We installed solar panels at HQ — meaning all our office electricity now comes from 100% renewable sources & lessening our consumption from national grid.
99% of our products were FSC-certified and we doubled the number of calendars using plastic-free packaging. We even redesigned our desk blocks to ditch plastic parts for fully recyclable fold-over formats
2024
We offset our Scope 1 & 2 emissions through verified carbon reduction projects and UK tree planting.
Launched our new Ways of Working group to explore issues including social sustainability — with charity days, a Cycle to Work scheme, new showers & drying racks for green commuters, and an internal reuse system to give leftover office stock a second life.
2025
In 2025, we reached a major milestone by submitting our near-term science-based targets to SBTi 🌍.
We gathered fresh ideas through a staff sustainability survey, continued reducing plastic packaging across more product ranges ♻️, and completed a full Heat & Energy Audit at our office to identify practical ways to cut energy use and emissions.

Our SBTi near-term targets have been approved
We’re proud to share that the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has approved our near-term science-based emissions reduction targets.
Our commitment is to reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 42% by 2030, from a 2023 base year, and to measure and reduce Scope 3 emissions across our value chain.
For us, this is about taking climate action seriously and making steady, measurable progress.

Reduce Waste
We’re tackling waste across our operations — improving recycling rates through our partners, reducing single-use plastics in product packaging, and working to minimise plastic used in transit packaging
Cleaner Transport
We’re working with logistics partners to find ways to reduce emissions through better delivery planning, fuel-efficient routes, and lower-carbon transport options. We also offer EV salary sacrifice scheme for staff
Protect Forests
We support nature-based solutions by sourcing responsibly & investing in reforestation projects.

It’s not just the planet we care about — we care about people, too. From hosting charity days in the office, to taking part in the GCA's Caring at Christmas initiative supporting local care homes, we’re always looking for ways to give back.

01. Are your products recyclable?
02. Do you use FSC-certified materials?
Yes! 99% of our products are made using FSC-certified paper, which comes from responsibly managed forests.
03. Do you use plastic-free packaging?
Yes — the vast majority of our products now come in plastic-free packaging, and we’re working hard to remove the remaining bits. That means we’ve swapped things like shrink-wrap and cello bags for recyclable, paper-based alternatives that are much kinder to the planet.
04. Is your office environmentally friendly?
We’d like to think so! We use solar panels, LED & sensor lighting, have EV chargers, central recycling, and even a leftover stock reuse system. However there is still more we can and plan to do.
05. Do your products contain glitter or foil?
We removed glitter from all our cards back in 2020 to help reduce microplastic waste and make recycling easier. We do still use foil on some designs — but always below the threshold that prevents recycling, so your cards can still be recycled at home.
