Cliff Richard first arrived onto the music scene in 1958 with the group 'The Shadows.'  Some of their most famous songs were 'The Young Ones' and 'Living Doll.'  In the late 60's though, Cliff went solo and entered the 1968 Eurovision Song Contest with the song 'Congratulations.'   This song didn't win the song contest but has become one of Cliff's most famous songs.

Cliff Richard has many awards for his amazing contribution to the music scene however, he gained his Knighthood firstly for his charity work.  His charity is called 'The Sir Cliff Richard Charitable Trust' and provides funding for charitable work in the following areas: medical research, children, the elderly and the physically and/or mentally disabled.
